Psychedelic Integration Therapy in Oakland, CA

Psychedelic Therapy: We’re Almost There

Substances like MDMA, LSD, psilocybin, ayahuasca, mescaline, and DMT are being actively researched for their healing potential. Many show promise in treating trauma, depression, anxiety, addiction, and existential distress.

And yet—most remain classified as Schedule I substances, meaning they are currently illegal to use or provide in therapeutic settings outside of approved clinical trials.

While we’re on the brink of a new era of psychedelic medicine, we’re not there yet.

I do not offer guided psychedelic therapy sessions, nor do I promote or provide illegal substances. All psychedelic experiences—legal or not—carry risk, even in safe and intentional settings.

My work lies in what comes before and/or after. I offer psychedelic integration therapy for those who have experienced non-ordinary states of consciousness—whether through plant medicines, ketamine, or other entheogens—and need a compassionate space to make meaning of what was revealed.

What Is Psychedelic Integration Therapy?

Psychedelic integration therapy is different from psychedelic therapy, where a guide or therapist is present during the actual journey.

In contrast, integration therapy happens after the experience. It’s the process of making sense of what emerged—emotionally, spiritually, somatically, and psychologically—within the context of an ongoing, grounded therapeutic relationship.

As a spiritual depth psychotherapist and integrationist in Oakland, I offer a safe, nonjudgmental space to help you reflect on your experiences with psychedelics such as MDMA, LSD, psilocybin, ayahuasca, DMT, cannabis, and ketamine.

Whether your journey brought awe or overwhelm, insight or confusion, I’m here to support your integration process slowly, soulfully, and without judgment. Together, we’ll explore what was stirred—and how it might be calling you toward healing, wholeness, or change.

When Psychedelics Disrupt Before They Heal

Psychedelics are inherently dis-integrating. They can loosen the structures of the self, dissolve ego boundaries, and drop us into vast, uncharted terrain.

Sometimes that’s beautiful. Other times it’s deeply destabilizing.

You may feel raw, overstimulated, or more open than you know how to be. You may feel like something essential came apart, and you’re struggling to come back together. You may have glimpsed something divine—or something terrifying.

These experiences often defy logic or language. And they often don’t “end” when the substance wears off.

This is where integration therapy comes in.

In therapy, we work slowly and gently to:

  • Reflect on the meaning of your experience

  • Ground back into your body and daily life

  • Recognize lingering after-effects (positive or challenging)

  • Attend to spiritual, emotional, or energetic shifts

  • Explore dreams, insights, or sensitivities that have emerged

Your process may continue unfolding for weeks, months, or even years. There is no timeline for integration. You don’t have to rush it—or do it alone.

Difficult Psychedelic Experiences (“Bad Trips”) and Psychedelic Trauma

“I had a bad trip. Will I ever feel normal again?”

It’s a common and deeply human question. Processing a bad trip can be frightening, especially if it left you feeling disoriented, fragmented, or ashamed.

Psychedelic trauma is real. These experiences can expose us to overwhelming emotions, buried memories, or haunting images—especially when taken without adequate support, safety, or intention.

You may be experiencing:

  • Flashbacks, panic attacks, or intrusive imagery

  • Feelings of derealization or depersonalization

  • Ongoing fear, paranoia, or insomnia

  • Emotional flooding or existential dread

  • A persistent sense of spiritual or psychological rupture

If this is you, I want you to know: you are not broken. And you are not alone.

Psychedelic integration therapy can help you:

  • Understand what happened and why it may have been so overwhelming

  • Validate the impact the experience had on your nervous system and psyche

  • Support your recovery process gently, with compassion and care

  • Practice grounding, regulation, and re-connection

  • Honor whatever was revealed—without bypassing or minimizing

Please note: I am not a crisis provider. If you’re in acute distress or feel unsafe, medical or psychiatric stabilization may be necessary first. After a sustained period of stability (typically 6+ months), I can support you in deeper trauma recovery and integration work.

Psychedelic Harm Reduction and Long-Term Recovery

Harm reduction doesn’t just mean safety in preparation—it also includes care after the experience. Even when psychedelics are used with positive intentions, things can go awry.

Integration therapy helps you make meaning from the chaos. It can be a container to reflect, repair, and restore your sense of inner coherence.

We may explore:

  • What went wrong—and how it impacted you

  • What your psyche may have been trying to show you

  • Where healing wants to happen now

  • How to rebuild trust in yourself, your body, or the spiritual

  • What parts of your experience still need tending

A Depth-Oriented Approach to Integration

As a depth psychotherapist, I don’t reduce your psychedelic experience to brain chemistry or pathologize your questions. I meet you where you are—curious, cracked open, grieving, or overwhelmed—and walk with you through the terrain.

Depth therapy honors the unconscious. It makes space for symbols, dreams, visions, archetypes, and longings that may not yet have words.

Your integration process may touch:

  • Childhood trauma or ancestral grief

  • Death anxiety or existential longing

  • Spiritual emergence or disillusionment

  • Mystical beauty that you don’t know how to hold

  • The slow return to your body, relationships, or truth

Whether you’re seeking therapy after psychedelics or are considering how to integrate a spiritual experience, this work invites a soulful, non-rushed unfolding.

Ketamine Integration Therapy

Although I don’t offer ketamine-assisted therapy, I work with many people who are seeking support during or after undergoing ketamine treatment.

Ketamine integration therapy can help you:

  • Explore what surfaced in your ketamine sessions

  • Understand what felt healing—and what felt off

  • Unpack dissociative or surreal experiences

  • Bridge insights into your relationships and daily life

  • Reconnect with your emotional body and inner self

Whether you had a clinical ketamine session or a personal experience elsewhere, your process deserves care and reflection.

Spiritual Integration Therapy

Psychedelic experiences often open doors to spiritual insight—or spiritual confusion. You may have felt connected to the Divine, seen visions, received messages, or had a deep experience of ego death.

You may also feel unmoored, cracked open, or unsure what to believe anymore.

Spiritual integration therapy honors the complexity of these experiences. It offers a grounded place to explore:

  • Mystical experiences or altered states

  • Grief and awe

  • Questions about meaning, identity, and purpose

  • Spiritual awakening—or collapse

  • A desire to live in deeper alignment with your truth

This is not about forcing a belief system. It’s about staying curious about what emerged and how to live with it in a way that supports your wholeness.

Integration Therapy in Oakland and Online

I work with adults of all genders, many of whom are highly sensitive, empathic, spiritual, or healing from complex trauma. Some are healthcare professionals or therapists themselves.

Whether your psychedelic journey offered profound insight or left you in pieces, there is space for you here.

Healing, in this context, isn’t about returning to who you were, but unfolding into someone more deeply connected to your truth.

If you’re seeking a therapist for psychedelic experiences, integration therapy can offer a bridge—back to your body, your soul, and your life.

Reach out to begin psychedelic integration therapy in Oakland or anywhere in California. I’d love to hear from you.

I think modern medicine has become like a prophet offering a life free of pain. It is nonsense. The only thing I know that truly heals people is unconditional love.
— Elizabeth Kubler-Ross

Please note: Consultations are strictly for people interested in psychotherapy with a therapist who has expertise in psychedelic experiences that take place independently of our therapy together. I will not respond to inquiries about where to find guides, ceremonies, or any other ways of possibly accessing illegal substances. There is always risk of harm or adverse effects with psychedelic use even in legal, research, or controlled settings. If you are coming for therapy, please do not attend under the influence of any consciousness-altering substance unless prescribed by a physician.
